As firewall's do not allow the passing of UDP data for security
reasons NEST has to find a way of including these users within
the ring and still maintain their involvement.
A firewall enabled client is still
in the development stage, and is planned for release later in
the year.
However If you are the firewall
administrator then it will be possible for you to enable your
NEST client to pass UDP data within the NEST ring.
For users behind gateways and firewalls
administrators should forward the ports 2004,2005 and 2006 to
computer that is using the NEST client. NEST uses 2004 for TCPIP
and 2005 and 2006 for UDP.
For firewall's open the ports 2004,2005,and
2006 for communication with the NEST server and other NEST clients.
