Stencils on sale from the street    

The first in a series of Dotmasters silk screened editions becomes available on the streets of Plymouth from the 23rd of March. Several Mona's placed strategically through the city will be active points of sale via mobile phones. Simply sms the accompanying code to the phone number at that location to purchase a print. Each customer will be issued a unique price based on the amount of sales from that place. It pays to buy early prices start at £6 with editions rising in cost by the same value with each purchase.
i.e. Edition 1 will be priced at £6 and edition 10 at £60.

Each locations market price can be found on the Dotmasters Google Map (prices will vary). Stencils in a mixture of central and outlying areas invite customers to cross the city in a hunt for market value. Popular areas will rise in price, so be aware of the market. Point of sale sites are shown in orange

On receipt of your code you must complete your payment online to secure that price. Those unable to do so via their phone must do so via an internet connection. For this soft launch these prices will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. A queuing system is in development for the launch in Zuerich, Switzerland on the 16th of April.

Prints are numbered A1 two colour silkscreens on 300 gsm, with location and market price at time of sale shown.Orders are limited to one per phone number. Mona is an edition of 500 with several international markets planned in 2007. Prices do not include postage and packing, these will be added during the ordering process.

Plymouth Art Center is the last in a long line of galleries to be graced with these modern day Dotmasters. Past excursions can be checked out in the video of the Buzzcocks tour here. "Mona & the Buzzcocks" comes in three size formats Large, Medium and Small. The film shows the gps plots as red lines over a google map fly through of the trips between stencil locations.

Cities already participating in this stencil campaign, are London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, Coventry, St Albans Northhampton, Brighton, Cleethorpes, Gloucester, Preston, Sheffield Plymouth and Stavanger, Norway. Other locations will be added along the way with cultural centers galleries and media savvy spaces bearing the brunt.

The Dotmasters have been invited to collaborate with Mediengruppe Bitnik -
http://bitnik.org in an exhibition and workshop at the "Cabaret Vorltaire" (http://cabaretvoltaire.ch) in Zuerich about Social Hacking. The exhibition will open on the 9th of March 2007 and end sometime in late August 2007 with a festival. The dotmasters visit the town in mid April.
